What we collect, why we collect it, and the control you have over it.
Satellite Weather ("we", "us", the "Service") provides real-time satellite imagery and weather data through our website (satellitewx.com) and mobile apps. This policy explains what personal data we handle and how. We designed the Service to collect as little as possible.
If you use the "locate me" feature, the app requests your device location to center the map and select nearby imagery. Location is used to provide that feature and is not retained on our servers or used for advertising. You can decline or revoke the location permission at any time in your browser or device settings; the rest of the Service works without it.
Payment processing is handled entirely by third parties — Stripe on the web, and Apple or Google (via RevenueCat) in the mobile apps. They collect and process your payment details under their own privacy policies. We receive only the result of a transaction (e.g. "subscription active until date X"), never your full card number.
We do not use your data for third-party advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles.
We share data only with vendors that help us run the Service, and only as needed:

We keep your account data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account (or by emailing us). When you do, we remove your personal data — your account, sign-in identity, and the subscription record on our servers — from active systems immediately and purge it from backups within 30 days, then confirm by email. This action cannot be undone. A store subscription (Apple or Google) is controlled by that store; deleting your account does not by itself cancel it — manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account. Anonymized or aggregated diagnostics may be retained.
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the app, or by emailing support@satellitewx.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
We use industry-standard measures — encryption in transit and access controls — to protect your data. Sign-in is passwordless and handled by our authentication provider, so we never store passwords. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and limit what we collect in the first place.
The Service is operated from the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries with different data laws.
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
