Terms of Service — Satellite Weather

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Satellite Weather (the "Service"), provided through satellitewx.com and our mobile apps. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Important weather safety notice. Satellite Weather is an informational and educational tool. The imagery, radar, lightning, model, and warning data are derived from third-party and government sources and may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Do not rely on the Service as your sole source for decisions affecting safety of life or property. Always follow official National Weather Service warnings, NOAA Weather Radio, and instructions from local emergency management.

1. The Service

The Service displays satellite imagery and weather products generated from public data (e.g. NOAA GOES satellites, NWS, SPC, WPC, and other sources). We continuously work to keep it accurate and available, but we provide it "as is" and do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

2. Accounts

Some features require an account. You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You must provide accurate information and be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

3. Subscriptions, trials & billing

Plans. The Service offers a Free tier and paid tiers. Pro is available on the web and in our mobile apps. Pro+ is not yet released and is coming soon on the web only; it is not offered or sold through any mobile app store. Current pricing is shown where you subscribe — for example Pro at $1.99/month or $19.99/year. Prices may change with notice for future billing periods. No tier displays advertising, and we do not intend to introduce it.
What each plan includes. The Free tier is a full working product, not a preview: it includes the continental US view, the full disk, one live mesoscale sector, every RGB composite and all sixteen satellite channels, every data overlay (radar, lightning, warnings, outlooks, model and surface fields), 20-frame loops, the most recent six hours of imagery, and the drawing, measuring and sharing tools. Pro adds higher-resolution regional, state and metro views, the second mesoscale sector, 200-frame loops, the full 48-hour archive, the pixel inspector with soundings and cross sections, time series, multi-pane comparison, and unlimited saved views. What sits in each tier may change as the Service develops; the current split is always shown in the app and on our pricing page.
Free trial. Every new Pro subscription starts with a 14-day free trial. On the web a payment method is collected up front; for mobile, trials follow the applicable app store's rules. We aim to remind you before a trial ends. If you do not continue on a paid plan, your account returns to the Free tier — your saved content remains, but paid features become unavailable.
Auto-renewal. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled beforehand. You authorize us (or the app store) to charge the applicable amount on each renewal.
Cancelling. Web subscriptions: manage or cancel via the Stripe customer portal (Settings → Subscription). iOS: Apple ID → Subscriptions. Android: Play Store → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep access through the end of the paid period.
Refunds. Web: contact us within 14 days at support@satellitewx.com. iOS refunds are handled by Apple; Android refunds by the Google Play Store, under their respective policies.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the imagery or data without permission;
Scrape, bulk-download, or place automated load on the Service beyond normal use;
Attempt to break, probe, or circumvent security or access controls;
Use the Service unlawfully or to infringe others' rights.

5. Intellectual property

The underlying satellite and weather data come from public/government sources. The Service's software, processing, composite imagery, design, and branding are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own non-commercial purposes. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the data is accurate, timely, or suitable for any particular decision, including any safety-related decision.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Satellite Weather and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD $50.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will survive.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We will update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide more prominent notice. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Oklahoma, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located in Oklahoma, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
